Film Lesson: "Modern Times"

Charlie Chaplin didn’t favor the industrial revolution. He compared factory workers to sheep, flooding into the workplace. Because they worked so often, it became natural. He thought the things done at the factory were so repetitive, that also became habit. He saw the boss as someone who has too much time on his hand. He displayed him putting puzzle pieces together as the workers were doing a lot. He showed how in demand the products were, so much that people were trying to figure out ways the workers can eat and work at the same time.
